The holiday began in the 1880s in the United States, with the fight for an eight-hour work day, nowadays it is meant to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers around the world. It sounds almost ironical, doesn't it? I believe it is really important to bear in mind that our ancestors fought hard for rights that we are losing today. Pandora's box has been opened as far as labour rights are concerned and we are doing nothing about it... We are living a sad time for those who work honestly but I also believe that it cannot be like that forever!
Hard times, no doubt!... But let's keep calm and carry on!
