I am a huge fan of Madge, as her friends and beloved call her. I remember listening to True Blue while I still couldn't understand a single word from the lyrics but my first LP was Like A Prayer, so everything goes back to 1989...
By that time I watched Blond Ambition Tour on RTP2 together with my Mother and then began our partnership concerning Her Madgesty ;) She explained me the lyrics, as she loved the songs but criticized some of the "body language" ;) Believe me, it was a step beyond in our mother-daughter relationship because controversial themes such as sexuality and Catholicism inevitably came up! The Pope had called for a boycott of the show in Rome, but Madonna didn't give up and performed Like a Virgin and Like a Prayer in a row as planned ;)
Her motto had become some rules are made to be broken and WOMEN are strong enough to do that!!! That definitely rang a bell to me... And the show achieved a measure of cult status, with elements, as the conical bra…
